about
Music composed for the choreography “414” and released for Record Store Day 2017.
“414” is about dealing with the devil. It is inspired by legends of artists with extraordinary talent who have sold their soul in order to gain their unique charisma.
The choreography emphasizes on the crossroad myth, which is mostly associated with the blues guitar player Robert Johnson. According to the legend, he met the devil in a crossroad during midnight and he exchanged his soul for exceptional blues artistry and fame. The demons try to captivate the musician. They use their tricks to lure him outside the circle in order to eat him. If he resists, they ask for his instrument and they teach him how to play the most wonderful melodies. In exchange he offers them a piece of his finger.
Terry Venemous is releasing new music every 3 weeks this year. His latest EP is sumptuous art pop with a wry sense of detachment.
